A Video Game Concept for Studio

Our teacher, Rayce Bird wanted us to divide into groups and create the concept for a Video Game again like we tried at the end of Sophomore Studio, but better. The group with voted the best project would get to have the entire class work on their idea for a week, to try to make a demo level of their game.

Ours won! And its based on my concept. The premise was that our protagonist, Emily from Victorian England got teleported into an alternate universe, where humans are dead and machines rule the world. The alternate universe is also Victorian, so the machines are clockworks.
In alternate universe, the people (and animals) mysteriously combusted into magic scifi goo, which melted into whatever was nearthem at the time, absorbing it and assembling it into a clockwork bot. These machines keep the some of the personality but not the consciousness or memories, and are all kind of broken childlike versions of life. Some of them are unfriendly. Emily wants to find the way back home.

This clock-bot was probably made partially from a nice curator at a museum. It scuttles around, chirping as it puts things in order, its eyes wide, curious and friendly.

This was also my first sketch from this idea, and it sold our group on it.

Ari, the player companion. This is another collab with Cam Perry who made the body in the left without mask.

Ari was put together differently than the others, by a dying scientist. Ari is a bit more human than the rest of the bots.

The 3D, rigged and animated model of a hunter killer robot I made that chases people in our demo through the city streets.

This concept sheet was made entirely by Cameron Perry, as the class adopted a slightly different art style. It's here to give my 3D model of this context.

Old version of Hunter-
He's probably a mishmash of several nasty people lumped into one, that happened to be near armor and other dangerous objects at the time of the event. He's calculating, sadistic, and insidious, and stealthily stalks the player.

This is a sketch I did for fun of a pegasus clockwork. You could probably say it used to be a knight's horse that dreamed of flying.

Boss- our main antagonist. Several of the more intelligent clockworks figured out how to combine, and the most ruthless of their personalities is the one that dominates. He is slowly extending his tendrils through the city. Cam Perry made this version.

My first sketch of the Boss's lair. He has a conveyer belt with several appendages that can grab things throughout the room, and various other surprises.

Goon- A standard, humanoid goon robot that would start to be constructed if Ari is captured. Collab with Cam Perry again.

The Time Gauntlet. Emily finished crafting the work her master died upon, and it is this that teleported her to the Clockwork Universe.

Emily upon arrival, the building she was standing in is run-down junk pit.

A moment of wonder as Emily meets some of the strange clockworks inhabiting the city.

Meeting Ari- the bot that seems to have been built by humans. (There are schematics of him laying around) He's quite like a mute child, and has had no one to take care of him for a while.

Emily being questioned by the Boss about her time traveling apparatus. If we did this again, I think we should do this scene without Emily, because in this scenario the Boss would certainly kill her instead of letting her free.

A chase, as the Hunter has spotted Emily and is now viciously chasing her through the streets.
